We are firm believers that Ina Garten can do no wrong, and she does not disappoint with her Szechuan noodle recipe. Here's why we love it: it's easy to make-ahead of time if you're having guests over, it can be served warm or cold, and best of all, most of the ingredients can be pulled out of your pantry, so it's a great last-minute dish! Did we mention it's delicious?!? This is the Barefoot Contessa we're talking about!

A Weary, Dreary Week

I’m not sure what the weather’s like in your corner of the world, but in our little corner of Virginia Beach, we've had a string of dreary, weary, rainy days.

The kind that makes you want to crawl back into bed and sleep for the rest of the day, because it’s so dark, you can’t even differentiate the difference between day and night.

The kind that make you yawn just by looking out the window.

Lent: 40 Days To Cultivate

Happy Ash Wednesday! A day that frequently tends to sneak up on me. Unlike Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s day, or even Groundhog’s day, Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and Easter wander around February, March, and April, making it difficult for me to keep up.

Martha, Martha, Martha

By Lincee Ray

There is a story in the Bible that showcases the attributes of two sisters. It consists of only five verses, yet so much is packed into this particular moment in history. In fact, these verses are so notorious that their content still makes some women fired up today. It’s the story of Martha and Mary.

Meal Planning 101

It’s no secret, those who know me well, know that I’m not exactly a planner. However, I’m beginning to see that when I actually take the time to plan things out, it saves me time, money, and unnecessary stress.

Spiritual Snacks

For busy, on-the-go women (which, let's be honest, is pretty much all of us), it can be hard to find time to sit down and actually open up the Bible. Ironically, when life is at its craziest, busiest time, that's when we need God the most.

You Are Loved.

We've got Valentine's Day on our minds and we wanted to share a few of our favorite Bible verses that underscore the depth of God's love. Truly, there is no amount of candy, cards, roses or chick flicks that will ever compare to the unfailing love of God.

Lent... an invitation

Lent, we meet again. My experiences from Lent have included a wide array of sentiments and experiences, from using it merely as a way to shed a few pounds before summer to using it as a season to dig into more of who God is and deepen my relationship with Him.

Do Something.

I don't know about you, but for me, I have such a hard time scheduling out everything in my life that needs to be done. In the world of never ending to-do lists, there are areas in my life where I've convinced myself that I need at least 1-2 hours to actually make it worth while: cleaning my house, exercising, spending time with God, writing thank you notes….the list could go on and on.
