FAMILY & HOME

Empty Nesters, you probably know all too well that a mother's work is NEVER finished!  That's why we're SO excited to announce the release of Jodie Berndt's newest book, Praying The Scriptures for your Adult Children: Trusting God With The Ones You Love.  It's the perfect Christmas gift for all the moms in your life!  And younger ladies, gifting this to your mom is the gift that keeps on giving--not only can you check mom off your Christmas list, BUT she will also double down in prayer for you--talk about a win-win! Learn more about Jodie's book here.

Want to hear Jodie share the inside scoop on her newest book?  Watch this clip.

Another book we can't get enough of?  Emily Ley's latest release: A Simplified Life: Tactical Tools for Intentional Living. Emily's latest book is both beautiful and practical.  In it, you'll find strategies, systems, and methods for permanently clearing the clutter, organizing your priorities, and living intentionally.  Yes, and Amen!  Another great gift idea for all the women in your life!

FOOD

We've been on a "Meatless Monday" kick lately and have loved these two recipes:

Cozy Butternut, Sweet Potato, And Red Lentil Stew

Spicy Black Bean Soup (we used an immersion blenderto give it a thick, hearty texture)

FAITH

Richmond friends, looking to knock off some last-minute shopping?  We've got just the thing!  Starting tomorrow,  for the next two weekends, the Richmond Center for Christian Study will be hosting a pop-up bookstore at the River Road Shopping Center by the University of Richmond. Check it out Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 am-6:30 pm.  Get all the details here.

It's the "most wonderful time of the year!"  But sometimes this time of year, we get bogged down by stress, to-do lists, and comparison.  We loved this encouraging perspective from Karen Ehman, "Show Your Joy To The World."

We loved reading this healthy dose of perspective from Liz Curtis Higgs, Six Reasons I'm Grateful for Cancer.

FUN & FABULOUS

We've gotten fabulous gift ideas from Emily Ley's blog.  Check out these posts:

We could listen to past Changing Seasons' speaker, Melanie Shankle, talk all day!  And we loved hearing her on Annie Downs' latest podcast.   Listen to Melanie chat with Annie Downs here.

That's it for this week! Can't get enough?!? Check out past editions of Soul Food Weekly here.
